Pullen Park

 

Located on Ashe Avenue, Pullen Park is a 66.4-acre public park in Raleigh, North Carolina. It covers an area between historic Hillsborough Street and Western Boulevard. The park is popular with locals and visitors alike, and is a great place for families to hang out, get some exercise, and enjoy the fresh air. Read on to learn more about Pullen Park Raleigh NC! Pullen Park Raleigh NC is a city park with many things to do. It is North Carolina's oldest public park, and the 5th-oldest amusement park in the world! There's a playground, picnic shelters, and plenty of space for sports. There are also several rides and games, including a carousel, train, kiddie boats, and paddle boats. Be sure to also check out our home page. You'll need a ticket to ride anything, but it's definitely worth a visit.

 

A classic attraction in Pullen Park is the carousel, which dates back to 1900. It features 52 hand-carved wooden animals, designed by chief carver Salvatore Cernigliaro. The carousel was originally powered by a Wurlitzer band organ. It's listed as a Raleigh Historic Landmark, and if you're visiting with children, you'll want to ride the carousel.

 

A large part of Pullen Park is the Pullen Aquatic Center, which opened in 1992. The center includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a warm-water therapy pool, along with spectator seating and locker rooms. A nearby community center offers classes and aquatic therapy programs. There's also an American Red Cross pool where you can take lessons. The pool also offers instructor-level classes for lifeguards and water exercise instructors. In addition to its park, Pullen Park is also close to NC State University and downtown Raleigh. It's on the Art to Heart Trail, and is a stop on the Art to Heart Trail. The Marbles Kid Museum, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, and other attractions are close by, as well as many Raleigh restaurants. Located in the heart of the Oakwood neighborhood, Pullen Park is a park of great resources. You'll find restored Grand Victorians from the 1800s, as well as modest bungalows from the 1920s. The neighborhood is also a popular place for families looking for a community. Oakwood Candlelight Walking Tours are a fun holiday activity that people enjoy. The Rialto theater features art house movies and IMAX movie viewing.
